The Circle of Life Home Care Deer River office is located in the middle of the words largest wild rice festival that has been recognized for more than 65 years. Today the wild rice festival has evolved with a full schedule of activities including a traditional pow wow designed to bring the Deer River Community together for a weekend of fun, food, entertainment, and fellowship. Whether your old or young there is always something to see and do at the festival.
I have been at the Deer River office for seven years. I enjoy working and learning about the Anishinaabe Culture. My two c-workers and I all work together well in keeping each other informed about our clients and their PCAS. Working in the Health Care Field has been rewarding to me in helping others, which has always been important to me.
My name is Lois Bowstring. I am a member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. I was born and raised in the Deer River area. I love spending time with my family on vacations, dinners, and holidays. My employment with Circle of Life Anishinaabe started in March 2018. Working for Circle of Life has given me the opportunity to meet some wonderful people. As the receptionist, I talk with a lot of people over the phone. So, when I finally get to put a face with a name, it’s a good day! Thank you.
I assist as the Qualified Professional for the Deer River Office along with being the Lead Registered Nurse for the surrounding areas. I joined Pat with her Journey in March 2006 out of the Cass Lake office and onto the opening of the Deer River office in 2008. I enjoy being a team player for Circle of Life and being able to spend quality time with clients in their homes.
