White Earth Reservation is home to the White Earth band of Ojibwe Indians and is located in north-central Minnesota. It is named for the layer of white clay underneath the surface on the western half of the reservation. And is the largest reservation in Minnesota.
The Circle of Life White Earth Office is located in Mahnomen and has been serving the White Earth Reservation and surrounding communities since 2007. The White Earth Office is known for our family like atmosphere and making all feel welcome.
My name is Jackie and I’ve been working for Circle of Life for 7 years!! I would definitely say that this has been the most rewarding job that I’ve ever had. I most enjoy working with people and helping families care for their loved ones.
I have 4 children and 4 grandchildren; they are all my pride and joy. My most favorite thing to do is watch the “Mahnomen Indians” plays sports. My family is big football and basketball fans! I also enjoy the outdoors. I love to spend time at our lake cabin, having grill outs, gardening and hanging out with family and friends.

I first started working for Circle of Life Home Care Anishinaabe in January of 2013 at the White Earth office. I have lived on the White Earth Reservation, where my husband is enrolled, for over three decades. I, on the other hand, am a descendant of the Wampanoag Tribe from Massachusetts. I first went to college for accounting at Fergus Falls community college and San Diego state University, but then I returned as a nursing student, where I graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital school of Nursing in Fargo, ND. I also attended Moorhead state college.
During my decades as a R.N., I have worked at both the Minneapolis and Fargo VA’s, the Mahnomen and Detroit Lakes hospitals, Dakota clinic in same-day surgery in Detroit Lakes, hospice of the Red River Valley, White Earth Indian Health Service, and I worked over a decade for White Earth Reservation Tribal Council as the Diabetes Project Nurse, where I ran a Podiatry clinic. Finally, I also did blood pressure and blood sugar screenings in the community, along with diabetes support groups, with diabetic education, and for a time I was with White Earth Home Health with WIC clinics.
I have three daughters, the two oldest are also nurses, and my youngest daughter is a CNA at a local nursing home. Actually, I found a job for my oldest daughter, Jessica, at this very office, where she was the first in office nurse! I have two grandchildren, a very lively four-year-old grandson, and a 15-month-old sweet, little peanut granddaughter.
Hello, my Name is Evette Fox, RN. I have been a nurse for Circle of Life Mahnomen in White Earth Nation for four years. I love working for this company and the people I care for and supervise here where I work and live. I have a wonderful husband Alfred Fox and 10 beautiful children (yes, six adopted!), and six granddaughters. I love horses, kids, of course, and also volunteer as a Girl Scout leader in my spare time between running to gymnastics and dance for my girls.
Hello! My name is Jessica. I was blessed with the opportunity to join the Circle of Life Home Care team in August 2011. My goal and desire here is to best serve our clients, PCAs, and their families. It is very rewarding building relationships with our clients and PCAs. My favorite part of working here is exactly that…getting to know the people who have entrusted us with helping them. I try hard to make everyone feel comfortable and for them to feel like they are part of our Circle of Life family. It is a pleasure to work for a company that is making such a big difference in people’s lives, especially in our native communities. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends! I am married and have three sons who are my pride and joy!
My name is Lois Asher, I am enrolled member of the White Earth Band of Chippewa’s. I have worked for Circle of Life since 2007. I humbly enjoy my job and I am happy to be a part of such a beneficial program offering home care services and jobs for our people.
Hello! My name is Karen Stech. I am a file clerk here at Circle of Life Home Care. I started working here in 2016. I enjoy working here and getting to know everyone. I am married and have two great kids and a grand puppy!
Native American Advocate
Hello my name is Geri Goodwin. I am an enrolled member of the White Earth Nation. My family left the reservation and moved to Minneapolis when I was a young girl. My father and most of my brothers moved back home years ago. I came home in February 2016 to be with my father. He was diagnosed with dementia and left for the spirit world in August 2018. I was blessed and so grateful to have been able to come home and spend this time with him. I have been working here at Anishinaabe Circle of Life since October 2017 as a Native American Advocate, and I love what I am doing. I love the people. I am so proud and honored to carry on Pat Yager’s mission. I am grateful this job came to me. I feel this is where I am supposed to be. I am home again.
